Hoping all my readers are doing well! It's been such a long time since I've blogged, only because I've been completely engrossed in school work and developing my professional career. Coincidentally, I am taking a course called Leadership & Professional Development, and I've been asked by my professor to create a post on my personal website. With this in mind, I'm just going to quickly update you guys on what's been going on lately. This past October, I was honored to be a recipient of the Nationwide Future Leaders Scholarship from the Executive Leadership Council. Additionally, I was able to travel to Washington, D.C for four days of professional workshops, networking events, and the recognition gala at the Marriott Marquis. I had an awesome time meeting several Black professionals and listening to the accomplishments they've made in multiple Business sectors. Nevertheless, I was able to connect with other Black students attending HBCUs and formed professional relationships with other scholarship recipients as well.
As I recently mentioned, these past few months have been filled with focus on creating opportunities; and I'm also excited to announce that I will be interning with Morgan Stanley as a Summer Branch Analyst in their Wealth Management Division! This was an opportunity that I prayed over for a long time, and I'm excited to experience to work in the financial industry and expand my knowledge. During the fall semester I was enrolled in Finance, and it was such a difficult subject that I never thought twice about a financial career; but internships were created for students to gain experience and discover what they are/aren't passionate about and that's my focus. I am so excited to work in this capacity, and potentially discover their full time opportunities as well!
